Abstract
Experimental measurements of the dynamic internal temperature distributions for soda-lime glass plates having one surface opaque and highly reflective are presented. Experimentally measured temperatures are compared to predictions obtained from the solution of the transient energy equation where internal radiative transfer was modeled using rigorous radiative transfer theory. A discussion of the experimental method and the rigorous formulation of the energy equation for semitransparent materials is given. The experimentally measured plate temperatures are compared with predictions, and very good agreement is shown.
