Abstract
The problem-based learning (PBL) approach provides a great opportunity for students be part of an authentic curriculum that promotes active learning, a motivational environment, and enjoyment. This article describes six steps for implementing PBL in the design of an innovative fitness unit.

The purpose to the Strategies column “Educator's Corner” is to feature short articles about one specific, practical teaching lesson that practitioners at the K–12 level can immediately implement in their classroom.
