Patrick Whitney

Patrick Whitney is the Steelcase/Robert C. Pew Professor of Design and IIT Distinguished Professor at the Institute of Design, Illinois Institute of Technology. He has published and lectured throughout the world about applying design in areas as diverse as strategy, interactive communications and products, learning, health, and alleviating poverty. His research has been funded by BP, Ernst & Young, Lenovo, Motorola, SC Johnson, and Steelcase, among others. Business Week has featured him as a “design visionary,” Forbes named him one of six members of the “E-Gang” for his work in human-centered design, and Global Entrepreneur Magazine named him one of 25 people who in 2006 were leaders in bringing new ideas to China.
