Abstract
Lu2Fe17 is a ferromagnet below T C=140 K and antiferromagnet up to T N≈ 278 K. Hydrogen absorption leads to a stabilization in the ferromagnetism over the whole range of magnetic order and to an increase of the ordering temperature up to T C=354 K in Lu2Fe17H1. The external pressure compensates the lattice expansion upon hydrogenation, and a re-entrance of antiferromagnetism is observed.
