The belt chamber computational model and its verification by strain gauge measurement

Abstract

A sophisticated elastic-plastic computational model for the stress, strain and safety analysis of the belt compound vessel has been proposed using finite element method (FEM). Important presumptions of the computational model (axial symmetry of stress and strain state, plane symmetry etc.) have beeen verified making use of the strain gauge measurement.
