In a previously published article, “Subchronic Inhalation by Rats of Mainstream Smoke from a Cigarette that Primarily Heats Tobacco Compared to a Cigarette that Burns Tobacco,” Ayres, Hayes, Higuchi, Mosberg, and Sagartz, 13:149–186, 2001, an error was found in the Methods section.
On page 154 it is stated that “Eight puffs were used for the 1R4F and five puffs for the Eclipse Cigarette.” After reviewing the study documentation in the archives it was determined that the number of puffs for the Eclipse Cigarette was seven instead of five. The corrected sentence in the Methods section, page 154, should read: “Eight puffs were used for the 1R4F and seven puffs for the Eclipse cigarette.”
