Dr Jenkins, a member of the original editorial board of Behavioral Medicine when the publication was founded as the Journal of Human Stress in 1975, is an executive editor of the journal. He is affiliated with the Departments of Psychiatry and Epidemiology at the University of North Carolina, Chapel Hill.
