Analysis of Testing Procedure Used by Students as It Relates to Software Engineering

A survey was made to find out whether students test their programs. A questionnaire was given to 81 undergraduate computer science majors from sophomore‐ to senior‐level students. The data was analyzed using a t test for students who responded yes/no to testing‐related statements. The result was students do not test, but debug programs; the hypothesis was rejected (t < .05).
