Abstract

This paper proposes the use of aperture feeding to improve the bandwidth of multi-band microstrip ring antennas. In particular, a dual-band stacked square-ring microstrip patch antenna with circular polarization is presented. The antenna covers the bands of Galileo and GPS systems, and produces right-hand circular polarization thanks to a broadband feeding network, which improves the axial ratio in the direction of maximum radiation.
