Abstract

In multiple-input multiple-output (MIMO) communications, mutual coupling is a notorious issue due to limited space available for mobile terminals. Most of theoretical analysis and simulation investigated the channel capacity and the performance of MIMO systems in the presence of antenna coupling. But in this paper, we have firstly experimentally studied the impact of the decoupling on channel capacity for MIMO radio communications. It is demonstrated that channel capacity can be enhanced by decoupling.
