Abstract

This paper presents a novel design of active polarization module (APM) for the proposed slot patch antenna. Only simple inter-digital or chip capacitor, rather than complicated circuit design, was used for APM to modify the surface current on the radiator. Meanwhile, the equivalent circuits of the module were analyzed through ADS software. The function of the proposed APM is to reconfigure the circular polarizations referred to changing of the phase of surface currents on the patch. Both simulation and measurements of the antenna parameters, including return loss, axial ratio, field patterns and antenna gain, were demonstrated.
