Abstract
A class of band-pass filters using E-shape resonators is proposed in this paper. The transmission and reflection property of the E-shaped resonators are analyzed with the transmission line theory. In order to verify the E-shaped resonators circuit structure and its corresponding filter design theory, the single, two-, and three-cascaded band-pass filters using E-shaped resonators are designed and simulated. The resonant characteristics of the cascaded band-pass filters show their advantages of compact size, excellent pass-band performance, and high out-band suppression. Finally, the two- and three-cascaded band-pass filters are fabricated and measured. The measured results show excellent band-pass filtering property and low insertion loss. The measured results also prove to be generally consistent with the simulated results.
