Axial diffraction of a dipole field by a strongly elongated spheroid

Pages 1535-1540 | Received 16 Jan 2018, Accepted 06 Mar 2018, Published online: 15 Mar 2018

Abstract

Axial diffraction of a dipole source on an elongated perfectly conducting spheroid is considered in high-frequency asymptotic approximation in a uniform manner with respect to the rate of elongation. Approximation is tested vs. numerical results. Effects of elongation on the induced currents distribution are illustrated.
