ABSTRACT

This paper presents a design scheme of a Novel Flattened Magnetron for Household Microwave Oven, which makes a breakthrough in the magnetic circuit of the existing magnetron and adopts the symmetrical enhanced magnetic circuit design scheme. Magnetron width has been successfully reduced from 80 mm to 50 mm. The reduction is up to 37.5%. Based on the size of the flattened magnetic circuit system, the theory of magnetron noise, and the knowledge of LC low-pass filters, a filtering structure for the flattened magnetron is proposed. Electromagnetic simulation shows that the magnetron with the new magnetic circuit structure can still meet the design specifications of the magnetron used in the existing microwave oven. An experiment was conducted to verify the proposed design's performance, and it was found to be similar to the existing conventional magnetron.
