Abstract
The paper develops a theoretical approach to the optimization of mine life and design capacity. The objective is to maximize the future value of mineral reserve. The concept introduced here may be used to evaluate the life and design capacity of a mine for planning purpose or to analyze the effect of various parameters on the optimal mine life and design capacity.
