Abstract
The origin of the idea, project and compilation of the Czech Academic Corpus has never been published in English before. The paper provides an overview over the defined tags and methods of tagging. All corpus sources are briefly described. Rich morphological and syntactical tags have enabled the authors to compile enormous amount of statistical data. A list of the essential articles and monographs is provided in the reference list.
