Correlational analysis of the Indo‐European morphological system

Pages 81-95 | Published online: 21 Jul 2008

Abstract

A correlational analysis of 38 Indo‐European languages with respect to morphological features represented on categorial or subcategorial levels is conducted. It is argued that this type of statistical investigation reveals hidden relations which may contribute to a sound basis for a “correlational typology”; of languages.
