Nicola Cufaro Petroni is a researcher at the Department of Physics of the Bari University. His main fields of scientific interest are: stochastic mechanics, quantum probability, neural networks and signal processing. He is also active as a performer: ever since he finished his violin studies at the Bari Conservatory of Music he has been active in the local Symphonic Orchestra, Opera Theater and several chamber music groups
