Abstract
This paper describes a microprocessor‐based hybrid computer‐music system which facilitates the manipulation (using repetition and transformation) of groups of pitched musical events. Since the user can manipulate his material in “chunks” in this way, rather than operating on a note‐by‐note level, he can build up elaborate musical structures easily and in a highly controlled manner. Parameters other than pitch may also be accurately controlled. The software includes a fully automated tuning routine which completely compensates for any non‐linearity of the oscillators used with it.
