Benjamin S. Baumer
Ben Baumer is a visiting assistant professor in the program in statistical and data sciences at Smith College and serves as the program's director. Ben spent nine seasons as the New York Mets' statistical analyst for baseball operations, where he developed the front office's statistical infrastructure. He earned his PhD in mathematics from the City University of New York in 2012 and is PStat® accredited. He is a co-author of The Sabermetric Revolution: Assessing the Growth of Analytics in Baseball.
Gregory J. Matthews
Gregory Matthews is an assistant professor of statistics in the department of mathematics at Loyola University Chicago. Prior to this, he spent time as a postdoctoral research fellow in the school of public health at the University of Massachusetts-Amherst and attended graduate school at the University of Connecticut, where he earned his PhD in 2011. His current research interests include statistical applications to privacy, genetics, and sports.
