Cedric Neumann
Cedric Neumann is an assistant professor of statistics at South Dakota State University. He earned a PhD in forensic science from the University of Lausanne, Switzerland. He is, or has been, involved in forensic projects for the private sector, as well as for the U.S. and British governments. His research is primarily focused on the development, validation, and deployment in casework of statistical models for the quantification of the probative value of complex forms of forensic evidence, such as fingerprints, footwear impressions, and firearms.
Hal Stern
Hal S. Stern is Ted and Janice Smith Family Foundation Dean of the Donald Bren School of Information and Computer Sciences and professor of statistics at the University of California, Irvine. Before becoming dean, he was founding chair of the department of statistics at UC Irvine and held faculty positions at Iowa State University and Harvard University. His research interests include assessing the fit of statistical models, combining information using Bayesian methods, applications of statistics in the social and biological sciences, statistics in sports, and forensic statistics.
