Abstract

In this study we allocate lectotypes for Cossus l-nigrum Bethune-Baker, 1894, Paropta pharaonis Bang-Haas, 1910 and Cossus frater Warnecke, 1929. New synonymies are established: Paropta Staudinger, 1899 = Alcterogystia Schoorl, Citation1990, syn. n.; Cossus lnigrum Bethune-Baker, 1894 = Paropta paradoxus (Herrich-Schäffer, [1851]), syn. n.; Paropta pharaonis Bang-Haas, 1910 = Paropta paradoxus (Herrich-Schäffer, [1851]), syn. n. It has been proved that Cossus frater Warnecke, 1929 belongs to the genus Paropta Staudinger, 1899.
