Fast simulation of the propagation of a spatially non-uniform laser beam through apertured ABCD systems

Abstract

Based on the treatment that the rectangular function can be expanded into an approximate sum of complex Gaussian functions with finite numbers, the analytical expressions for the propagation of partially non-uniform laser beams through apertured ABCD optical systems were derived. The typical numerical examples were given and were compared with those obtained from numerically integral calculations. It can be shown from the results of our study that our method can significantly improve the numerical calculation ejciency.
