Abstract
The stretched-exponential character of mechanical or dielectric relaxation in fragile glasses above T g, is considered from a dispersive-transport standpoint. Close to Tg we find the ‘stretching’ exponent β(T) to be proportional to (T—T o), where T o is the Kauzmann temperature, whereas the relaxation time τ(T) follows a Vogel-Fulcher temperature dependence.
