Spatial position of the arc deflected by its own magnetic field

Abstract

Research results of the arc altitude on the groove faces under conditions of root layer machine non-consumable welding by an arc deflected by the eigenfield are described. Mathematical formulation of the arc heating spot centre position changes in time is given, as well as dependence allowing for calculating welding arch deflection angle from the electrode axis, considering distance from the current contact jaw to the electrode axis, welding current, and current switching frequency.
