Modelling physical processes in arc welding with a stationary consumable electrode

Pages 788-794 | Published online: 19 Sep 2011

Abstract

The model of physical phenomena taking place in welding in a narrow slit-like gap is discussed. It is shown that the main process that determines heating of the electrode and melting in the modelling of the physical phenomena taking place in the electrode is the passage of welding current through the electrode. Measures for producing high-quality welded joints in arc welding with a stationary consumable electrode are proposed.
