Reliability of transmission gas pipelines in the conditions of intensification of corrosion and ageing processes

Abstract

The problem in ensuring the reliability of transmission gas pipelines in the conditions of intensification of corrosion and ageing processes is investigated. In addition to failures caused mostly by stress corrosion cracking, there is also the risk of failures caused by degradation processes in the metal of the pipes during long-term service. Methods for solving this problem are discussed.
