Optimization of the parameters of the surface-hardened layer in laser quenching of components

Abstract

The maximum permissible depth of the laser-hardened surface layer of components of working thickness without affecting the service reliability of the structure is evaluated. The structure and mechanical properties of 40Kh steel, BrAZhNMts 9-4-4-1 bronze, and 3M titanium alloy after laser surface hardening in different conditions are investigated.
