Calculation of the weld spot diameter in determination of the resistance welding conditions

Abstract

Analysis of the GOST standards and IIW data by approximation was carried out to determine the dependences controlling the minimum diameter and the cross section of the weld spot nugget for a range of thicknesses of welded components. It is shown that the fracture shear stress depends only slightly on the thickness of welded elements.
