Evaluation of the load-carrying capacity of butt welded joints in reinforced concrete bars with stress concentration taken into account

Abstract

The load-carrying capacity of butt welded joints in reinforced concrete bars is calculated taking into account the design and geometrical parameters of welded joints. The method can be used to analyse the effect of the stress concentration factor on the strength of welded joints which in turn reduces the stress concentration as a result of optimization of the parameters of the welded joints.
