Calculation of maximum temperatures in automatic welding and surfacing

Pages 531-534 | Published online: 09 Mar 2012

Abstract

Correction of the well-known Rykalin equation for calculating maximum temperatures in the surfacing zone is described. It is proposed to carry out calculations taking into account the factors associated with melting of the parent metal: the latent heat of melting, the temperature to which the parent metal is heated during melting, displacement of molten metal into the tail part of the weld pool, efficient selection of the thermophysical quantities, etc.
