Abstract
The results of testing the ferrite content of S32101 lean duplex steel and its welded joints by means of a ferritescope, as well as the influence of such factors as the sample thickness, measurement area shape and state, etc., are presented. The application of correction coefficients is discussed. The problems arising during measurement of ferrite content in welded joints and the ways of preventing them are specified. The influence of MAG welding parameters on the ferrite content in S32101 lean duplex steel butt welded joints is also presented.
