Precision arc welding of high-pressure vessels with alternate pulsed supply of shielding gases

Abstract

A technology of arc welding with an alternate discrete-pulsed supply of gases – argon and helium – ensuring the highest mechanical properties as regards the strength and ductility of the welded joints, the formation of high-quality welded joints of the required dimensions and shape, the removal of unacceptable deformation, and the stability and productivity of the process is proposed. A universal and efficient method of controlling the energy parameters of the welding arc is described and gas equipment – regulators of gas supply, awarded patents of the Russian Federation, has been constructed.
