A physical–mathematical model of the power circuit of a plasma torch

Abstract

The article describes the results of development of a physical–mathematical model of a power source–arc system in plasma cutting which takes into account the instability of arcing at low currents (pilot arc), the process of transition of the arc to the working load and the non-stationary characteristics – the shunting mechanism of the DC arc, causing changes in the length of the arc and large-scale pulsations of current and voltage.
