Determination of the penetration depth in electron beam welding by dimensional analysis

Abstract

The principle and methodology of dimensional analysis used for determining the relationship between the physical parameters of the analysed processes in the form of a mathematical dependence with the accuracy to a certain constant coefficient are investigated. The method is used for determining the relationship between the penetration depth, thermophysical properties of the welded materials and the parameters of the process of electron beam welding of titanium alloys, tungsten and 18-8 corrosion-resistant steel.
