Kinetics of development of physical contact in diffusion welding of titanium

, , &

Abstract

The results of simulation and experimental investigations, carried out on specimens of titanium alloys with simulation projections, simulating the roughness of actual services, were used to determine the effect on the kinetics of development of physical contact in diffusion welding of various parameters such as temperature, pressure and the microstructure of welded components. It is shown that the integral characteristic, reflecting the dynamics of the processes of development of contact, is some constant having the dimension of time. Equations, describing the dependence of this constant on the welding conditions, are derived.
