Effect of high-speed welding with a constricted arc on changes in the structure of the weld metal of 1201 aluminium alloy

Abstract

The results of investigation of the special features of changes in the structure of welded joints in 1201 aluminium alloy at different speeds of welding with a constricted arc are presented. It is shown that the reduction of the holding time of liquid metal in the appropriate temperature ranges determines the solidification rate of metal and the extent of diffusion processes of alloying elements and impurities and also the nature of structural changes.
