ABSTRACT

The possibility of application of laser carbon steel for railway transport wheels manufacturing surface alloying with spherical tungsten carbides WC was considered. Experiments showed that volume part of reinforcing particles could reach 58% when laser powder alloying is applied. In the same time, if volume par of WC exceeds 16%, cracks on the surface are observed.
