The non-destructive testing of ceramics and welded glass tubes

Abstract

The use of non-destructive techniques for the testing of metallic materials, and in particular of welded joints, for the presence of internal defects is well known. The increasing use in industry of ceramic and glass components now requires that a non-destructive examination of these types of material also be carried out. This article reports on the collected experiences in this field to date.
