Welding of HSLA steels examined by a simulation technique

Abstract

The weldability of HSLA steels is reviewed in relation to their microstructure in the heat‐affected zone (HAZ) when they are subjected to welding heat cycles using a simulation technique. The presence of precipitates of alloying elements is of the utmost importance for controlling grain size, on which the good mechanical properties of these steels depend.
