The corrosion behaviour of stainless steel cladding applied by laser

, &
Pages 536-539 | Published online: 09 Dec 2009

Summary

The properties of a stainless steel coating produced on a carbon steel using the high‐power laser surface cladding technique were studied. The cladding was obtained by injecting type 316 stainless steel powder. The composition and properties of the new coating were similar to those of a stainless steel of the same type obtained by conventional methods.
