Abstract
In this paper, a non-turning feature recognition system for rotational parts is developed. It intends to promote the CAD/CAPP/CAM integration level. The inputs of the system are two-dimensional engineering drawing data entities from IGES and the outputs are the non-turning features and updated turning profile data. The algorithms for CAD data sorting and non-turning feature recognition are discussed. Finally, a prototype that uses AUTODESK'S AUTOCAD is developed and an example is evaluated to demonstrate the success of the system.
