Antwerp Film Week

Abstract

The 14th International Week of Educational and Teaching Films organised this year, as in 1976, for ICEM, by the Belgian Ministry of National Education and Culture, took place from 17 to 21 April in the Quality Inn Hotel, Antwerp. It was attended by 80 participants, the strong European contingent being joined by North Americans, Kuwaitis, Australians and Japanese. 280 films (8 mm, 16 mm, 35 mm and videocassette formats) from 19 countries were shown in four screening rooms. The range of subjects covered was wide, an analysis of the catalogue revealed the following interesting breakdown: biology (60), social studies (37), physics (26), teacher training (24), fine arts (24), elementary school education (16), environmental studies (15), geography (14), history (10), chemistry (10), mathematics (10), health education (8), physical education and sport (6), general interest (5), music (3), technology (3), pre-school education (2), moral and religious education (2), traffic security (2), sex education (1), language (1), literature (1).
