Abstract
People inside and outside ICEM often show considerable surprise when my colleagues and I discuss with them the activities of Statens Filmcentral (the Danish Government Film Office). What they don't realise is that an organisation with basic structure and aims such as ours can have much to do with education. We do however have a very strong commitment to education. Indeed, approximately 85 per cent of our annual 240,000 film loans are those requested by primary and secondary schools, despite the fact that the majority of our films are not produced or purchased with education specifically in mind.
