Abstract
Media institutes find themselves in a dilemma, uenerally they are keen to start the distribution of video cassettes in their country or region but first they have to find out which one of the several different (and non-interchangeable) video systems they should choose. It seems likely that, out of the present diversity, one or two systems will emerge, preferable to other systems on grounds of cost, quality and simplicity of handling, both in distribution and use in the classroom. It is, of course desirable that the media institutes should be in a position to opt for a particular system.
