Introduction
We are all aware of the fact that communication satellites are used every day to transmit televised events from around the globe. We may or may not know that when we make a phone call between Europe, Asia, or North America, our voices, likely as not, travel some 44,600 miles through space before being heard by a friend, relative or professional colleague at the other end of the line.
