The Educational Uses of the Videodisc Coupled with the Microcomputer

Pages 18-20 | Published online: 15 Apr 2008

Abstract

Ten years ago the National Centre for Pedagogical Documentation (CNDP) made its first educational videodisc in cooperation with the Prospective Research section of Thompson-CSF. The reproduction of original material (still pictures or 16 or 35mm films) was achieved without loss of picture quality. The two available sound tracks, the slow motion and the searching processes, and the almost instantaneous response when stopping to hold any of the images, were all excellent features.
