Abstract
This article underlines the significance of video usage in educational institutes for imparting knowledge in various fields including media, history, arts and medical sciences, and gives detailed information about numerous video formats. It also describes the popularity of video cameras, specifically in cultural settings, for producing videos of wedding ceremonies and other social occasions. Moreover, the usefulness of videodisc educational projects and the availability of Compact Disc‐ROM medical databases are considered as the latest innovations. These can make it possible to demonstrate and standardize operating procedures, thereby permitting the individual to experience simulated situations. The developing countries can benefit tremendously from these technologies, which are readily accessible in both the UK and the USA.
