Effectiveness of Contrived Experiences in Teaching/Learning about Simple Farm Tools

Pages 124-127 | Published online: 09 Jul 2006

Abstract

This article describes the experiment which confirmed that students who were taught with combined contrived experiences (realia, models, mock‐ups) and visual symbols (sketches, drawings) perceived and performed significantly better in the study of simple farm tools in the Nigerian subsistence farming system than students taught without any instructional media or with only visual symbols or only contrived experiences.
