The Telematic Training of Pedagogical Resource Centre Staff as Part of the Introduction of Information Technologies into Educational Resource Management

Abstract

This article describes the implementation of a training course in computerized educational resource management provided for staff of Catalonia's Pedagogical Resource Centres. The course consisted of an initiation phase, comprising both telematic communications and classroom tuition, and a follow‐up, in‐service assistance phase using telematics and telephone contacts. The basic aim is to achieve standardized computerization of references to resources available in the vicinity of each resource centre and to make information provided by all the centres available telematically and on CD‐ROM through the SINERA educational resources database.
